Hey! My name is Rachel Willems and I’m the owner/operator (and basically everything else) at Speckles & Stripes Boutique. We are localed in the rural small town of Protection, Kansas, so if you’re ever in our area, we’d love for you to come see us! 

A little about me and our story at S&S: I’ve always loved fashion, but went to college and got a degree in Biology (yep)! I then got my teaching certificate and was a high school teacher for six years. We moved from Oklahoma to my husband’s home town so he could move back work on the family farm. When our youngest was born in 2015, she ended up having some pretty scary health problems and I was unable to work because I was taking her to doctors appointments 2-3 days a week, a minimum of 150 miles away. It became critical that I figured out a way to make a bit of income to pay mounting medical bills and living expenses. In May of 2016, we made the decision to take the risk and take some money out of savings and just jump right in this boutique world :) It was super scary and stressful to put yourself out there, especially when you know nothing about the business aspect and the fact I loved to shop. Nonetheless, Speckles & Stripes Boutique opened online on July 6, 2016 (my boys- then 7 & 5 came up with the name on a walk). S&S quickly outgrew our daughter’s nursery and we opened our storefront on January 19, 2017 in downtown Protection. You can usually find our “Mini Boss” at the store helping Mom :)

We have three adorable and ornery littles who keep us very busy and running in many different directions and cattle who always need lots attention too.
